Full-Cast Crowns/Bridges
Full-cast metal crowns and bridges withstand wear and tear very well, and are not prone to chipping or breakage. Full-cast crowns and bridges are malleable, especially the high noble metal crowns which make them more adaptable to the unique shape of dental anatomy. Full-cast crowns and bridges have a long and distinguished history of use for dental restorations and help resist the formation or dental caries. Another advantage of a full-cast restoration is that with the use of a high noble alloy, such as gold, the crown is less likely to cause an allergic reaction when compared with base-metal crowns.
According to the American Dental Association, full metal crown classification depends on the percentage of metal content present.
- High noble metal crown – These crowns contain over 60% of high noble metal alloy of gold, platinum, and palladium with a minimum of 40% gold content.
- Noble metal crown – These crowns contain at least 25% of gold and other platinum noble alloys.
- Base metal crown – These crowns contain less than 25% of noble metal content.
Wand Dental Lab uses the most technologically advanced equipment to deliver high noble metal crowns to meet your needs.
Full-cast Crown and Bridge Facts
- Gold restorations have a history of lasting 25-30 years or longer – depending on how well the patient takes care of their restoration.
- Literally considered the “gold standard” of restorative options for good reason — these crowns are designed to last for a long time. They serve as the standard by which all other options are judged.
- The properties of titanium, gold and gold-containing alloys allow full metal crowns and gold crowns to be thin but incredibly durable.
- Full metal crowns conserve the natural tooth structure by requiring less clearance to be made both circumferentially and across the occlusal table during preparation.

Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) Crowns and Bridges
PFM Non-Precious
Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) restorations remain the most widely used fixed prosthetics. They are the predominant choice due to their strength, durability, simplicity, and versatility in restoring function while maintaining aesthetics. PFM non-Precious restorations are still the prescribed restoration of choice by many dentists. A solid model is used to verify proximal contacts so your restoration will seat with little or no adjustments.
PFM Semi-Precious
PFM Semi-Precious restorations are ideal for your most demanding patients. To prevent the gray appearance at the gingival margin or poor discoloration, each restoration can be designed with no metal showing. They are a popular choice due to their strength, durability, simplicity, and versatility in restoring function while maintaining aesthetics.
Porcelain Fused to Titanium (PFTiT)
When the case calls for a crown or bridge that’s as strong as it is biocompatible, PFTiT restorations are the perfect solution. PFTiT is designed by CAD and milled in the Kavo Everest System from an industrially produced blank of grade 2 medical titanium and then built up with Vita porcelain to produce very aesthetic restorations. PFTiT provides an alternative to conventional metals when extreme strength and biocompatibility are paramount.
PFM White or Gold High Noble

Veneers
Dental veneers are aesthetically pleasing and make it easy to match the color and shade to surrounding dentition. It is also easier to replicate natural, or human-caused, anomalies in the appearance of the tooth; such as toothbrush abrasion, staining, marbling, etc. Capitalizing on the aesthetic versatility of e.Max ultra-pressed technology, the ultra-thin veneers are ideal for cosmetic smile improvements or restoration so chipped incisal edges, covering abfractions, masking areas of recession, closing diastemas or changing shade or position of the teeth only requires a 0.2mm to 0.3mm preparation.
